Privacy Policy

MadByteApps utility apps · Effective 19 October 2026

1. Introduction

This is the Privacy Policy for the utility apps developed and owned by MadByteApps. It applies to every app listed in section 10.

Our utility apps are built to work on your own device. There are no accounts, and the content you create never leaves your phone unless you choose to share it.

Your privacy is important to us. If you have any questions, please contact hello@madbyteapps.com.

2. Information Collection and Use

We do not collect, store, share or sell any personal data.

Everything you create in the app, such as photos, documents, results and settings, is processed and stored locally on your device.

The only information that leaves your device is anonymous usage statistics, your purchase status and, in apps that show ads, the information described in section 4.

3. Data Collection Overview

a. Personal Data

Our apps do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number or other identifiers. You never create an account.

The only information we may receive is what you voluntarily provide if you contact support.

b. Camera, Photos and Your Content

The app uses your camera or photo library only when you choose to take or import a photo.

All processing happens locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded, transmitted or stored on external servers, and we never access or view your content.

Your content leaves your device only when you tap Save, Share, Print or Export, and then it goes only where you send it.

c. Usage Analytics

We record basic, anonymous usage events, such as opening the app, finishing onboarding or exporting a result, so we can understand which features are used.

These events carry a random identifier created on your device, your device model, operating system version, app version and language. They do not contain your name, email or any of your content.

If the app asks for feedback and you type a note, the note is sent with these events. Please do not include personal details in it.

d. Purchases

Payments are processed by the app store. We never see your payment card or billing details.

We receive the purchase receipt, the product, its price and currency, and an anonymous device identifier so the app can unlock paid features and restore them on a new phone.

4. Advertising

Our apps on iOS do not show ads.

Some of our apps on Android may show ads from third-party advertising networks, including Google. Where ads are shown, the advertising network may use your device's advertising identifier and basic device information to serve and measure ads. Ad networks never receive your content.

Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads, and you can choose non-personalized ads instead. You can reset or disable your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

5. Third-Party Services

Our apps use a small number of service providers: the app store for purchases, a subscription management service, an analytics service and, in apps that show ads, advertising networks. Each handles data under its own privacy policy.

On-device features such as the camera and image processing use the system frameworks provided by iOS or Android, which do not transmit your content.

Apart from advertising where described above, the apps include no tracking SDKs and do not use the advertising identifier.

6. Data Security

Since the apps perform all processing on your device, your content never leaves your phone unless you send it somewhere yourself. Security of that content is handled by your operating system's built-in protections.

Traffic to the services described above is encrypted.

7. Data Retention

Your content remains solely on your device, saved only where you choose, and is removed when you delete it or delete the app.

Anonymous usage statistics are kept for as long as we need them to improve the app. Purchase records are kept for as long as the app store or the law require.

To have the anonymous records linked to your installation deleted, email hello@madbyteapps.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA to access, correct or delete information; the same email address handles these requests.

8. Children's Privacy

Our apps do not collect personal information from users of any age, including children under 13.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect improvements, legal requirements or new features. When changes are made, the effective date at the top will be updated. We encourage users to review this policy periodically.

10. Apps Covered by This Policy

Passly (passport photo)

Passly helps you take a photo that meets the size and framing rules for passports, visas and ID cards. It uses your camera and photo library when you take or import a photo, and your device's motion sensors for the level indicator in the camera. Face detection and background removal run on your phone; your photo is never sent to any server for this. Finished photos stay in the app's local history. Support: passly@madbyteapps.com.
